This is the tenth year that NAREN has been in existance. They are determined to shift their focus from cataloguing abuse and neglect and lamenting the lacking elements and presence of deficiencies in children’s environments, both educationally and at home, and instead begin addressing what the at-risk population has to offer.
The NAREN Conference will focus on the “aptitudes, attitudes, skills and talents, both latent and obvious in at-risk learners.” The group is determined to explore everything from what is currently working to “what might work if we are willing to try it.”
Author Lynn Stoddard (Educating for Human Greatness) is the keynote speaker.
